Our client is continuing to expand their Ruby engineering team, and is looking for a talented engineer who is looking for a permanent "home". This company is a successful private firm that has moved past the early stages and is now taking their business to the next level. This firm has partnered with some very well-known brands that you`ve definitely heard of, and is creating a big splash. In this role, you will help contribute to a distributed development environment (four Ruby engineers work remotely) with the technical leadership based in New York. Although this role allows telecommuting, candidate MUST live within reach of the city for occasional on-site work and meetings.
The following experience is required:
B.S. in Engineering or Computer Science and at least 3 years professional work experience.
1-4 years of professional Ruby on Rails experience.
Has no problem with complex database / back-end development, but also has a strong sense of UI design.
Experience with open source and / or OO languages; professional development experience with PHP, Java or Python highly desirable.
Preference will be given to those who have worked on high visibility consumer-facing sites in a full-time permanent capacity.
Experience working in distributed software development environment with agile methodologies is required.
